International Breweries just recently appointed XLR8 to manage its public relations. International Breweries is the Nigerian subsidiary of AB InBev while XLR8 is a communications consultancy agency. The appointment came after a very competitive bid with other agency, in which they emerged the winner. The communications agency will be responsible for all International Breweries’ corporate as well as brand-related communications.
Why XLR8 was appointed the International Breweries Public Relations Account
In a statement Otunba Micheal Darmola, International Breweries’ Legal and Corporate Affairs Director said that XLR8 was chosen because of their robust pedigree and compelling presentations. He talked about how the organization was working on building a lasting legacy. He said that the company is focusing on brewing quality beer that consumers will love while also building brands that will continually bring people together for a long time. International breweries stated through Darmola that they saw XLR8 as the excellent partners to help them achieve their goals. They expressed their confidence in the agency, saying that they believe XLR8 had the right set of values to help them bring people together for a better world.
In another statement by the CEO of XLR8 Calixthus Okoruwa, he said that the agency is deeply honoured and humbled to be given the opportunity to be of service to an organization who born very iconic brands. He said that his agency will work hard to justify the trust and confidence that International Breweries gave his agency. He also spoke about how his agency also shares the same passion and dream for bringing people together.
XLR8 will be adopting AB InBev’s public relations model in the United States. AB InBev appointed Fleishman-Hillard to head its corporate and public relations account in the United States. Like XLR8 Fleishman-Hillard was appointed to help reinforce the company’s strength and values.
