TomTom the Cadbury owned candy brand recently announced that it has signed Phyno and Teni the Entertainer as its brand ambassadors. The announcement was made at a ceremony which was held in Lagos. Phyno who is a top rapping act and Teni who is one of Nigeria’s singing sensation will act as TomToms brand ambassadors for the foreseeable future. They will feature in the brand’s marketing campaigns. The choice to use Teni and Phyno was a desire by TomTom to connect with their consumers through music.
Why TomTom Chose Phyno and Teni the Entertainer as Brand Ambassadors
According to the brands Marketing Manager Aruleba Olumide, Phyno and Teni were chosen because they align with the brands new marketing objectives. The brand seeks to project itself as youthful and cool. They believe that Phyno and Teni can help with that. He stated that Phyno and Teni enjoy the power of cool that only TomTom can bring. They believe that the two artists can help drive brand awareness and association with their consumers
TomTom Speaks on the Appointment of Phyno and Teni as Brand Ambassadors
The Managing Director, Cadbury Nigeria Plc, Amir Shamsi spoke at the event where the announcement was made. He expressed his delight at the influence of the ambassadors on the objectives of the company for the TomTom brand. He stated that despite the brand being a brand of heritage, the brand still remains youthful and cool. Shamsi then spoke about how the Nigerian entertainment industry has remained a major sector for the Nigerian youths to thrive. He explained that the candy brand is very delighted to go all the way to showcase passion points of millions and hopefully contribute to the success of many more. Cadbury’s incoming Managing Director, Mrs Yimika Adeboye also spoke at the event. She described TomTom as a winning product that has stood the test of time among other candy brands available in the Nigerian market.

Teni and Teni also spoke about their recent appointment at the event. They both expressed their delight at being appointed as brand ambassadors by TomTom. They stated that they are grateful for the opportunity to form a deeper bond with their ever growing fans of young people that are always open to cool new experiences.
