Ad Week recently conducted an interview with 7 Cannes 2019 jury presidents who will judge the Cannes 2019 awards. In the interview, Ad Week spoke to each of the 7 jury presidents and they discussed what they will expect to see and what they look forward to seeing in their categories. The Jury presidents set their tones and bars of expectation for Cannes 2019. We must say the bar is very high.

In the interview Ad Week asked each jury president three questions:

  • What excites you most about the past and present work in your category?
  • What do you expect to see in Cannes-worthy work this year in your category?
  • What do you hope you’ll see in the overall work at Cannes in 2019? Conversely, what do you hope you won’t see in this year’s entries?

In this post, we will be discussing the last two questions. We would call them the Category Expectations and the Cannes 2019 expectations respectively.
