Stanbic IBTC Donates Ultra-Modern Facility to Lagos School


Stanbic IBTC recently donated an ultra-modern lavatory to a public school in Lagos. The public school is called Abaranje Primary School and it is located in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Stanbic IBTC Donates Ultra-Modern Facility to Lagos School

The ultra-modern facility which Stanbic IBTC donated to the school consists of a block of 12 modern toilets. 10 were built for the students and 2 for the teacher. The bank also donated a septic tank, borehole and overhead water tank. Stanbic IBTC’s donation falls in line with the company’s Corporate Social Initiatives.

According to the bank, it’s Legal Services Department took up the project as its CSR initiative. They took up the project because it benefitted the primary school and addressed a major health challenge. The Legal Service Department got the idea after they visited the school and found out that 800 children were sharing two pit latrines. The Legal team was unanimous in its belief that this project was crucial.

According to the bank, the project was funded by the staff of the Legal Services Department of Stanbic IBTC. It was also funded with contributions from their friends and family members. The bank also matched the funds raised by the Legal Services Department.

Stanbic IBTC Speaks on the Project

Angela Omo-Dare, Head, Legal Services of Stanbic IBTC Spoke about the project. She talked about how grateful her team and bank is to have been given the opportunity to contribute towards the comfort and health of young Nigerians. She stated that they received a lot of joy from working on the project. The finishing of the project also supplied the bank with a sense of pride.

The School Speaks on the Project

Oluwabunmi Morenikeji Oteju, a Director in the State Universal Basic Education Board of Lagos State spoke on behalf of the school. She thanked the bank for their charitable donation. She talked about how projects like these make the learning environment more conducive and the students can learn better under such conditions. Oteju pledged that the facilities provided by Stanbic IBTC would be put to effective use. She assured that the infrastructure would be properly maintained.

Elizabeth Ogunmola Adebola, the Head Teacher, Abaranje Primary School II also spoke about the project. She expressed gratitude to the management of the bank.
