About the “Infamous Since 1864” Spot
To celebrate its 155-year history, Smirnoff released an action-packed spot. The spot is 60-second long and is directed by Rupert Sanders. Rupert Sanders is the director behind action-packed films like Snow White and the Huntsman and Ghost in the Shell. For the “Infamous Since 1864” spot, the alcoholic brand told the story of its 155-year history. The ad touched on Smirnoff’s roots in Russia. It touched on the drink being resurrected in France, before making its way across Europe to its role in the cocktail revolution that took place in the US in the 1950s.
The whole ad and its concept were developed by the brand’s local creative agency 72andSunny. This campaign is a global campaign and will roll out across Europe this week. This will be followed by a global roll-out across international markets that include the US, Canada, Brazil, Argentina and Kenya. Asides the video, the campaign will be supported with broadcast, OOH, digital, social and print advertising.
