The ads seem to be right on brand for Ryan Reynolds who is known for his dry wit. Aviation Gin recently released an ad which is not really an ad but is hilarious and weird like most of its ads. The creative work stars Ryan Reynolds (like you guessed), in the ad we see the star try to come up with a new slogan for the elixir.
Ryan Reynolds Tries Out Hilariously Awful New Slogans for Aviation Gin
The creative work arrived in a cryptic email from Reynolds’ Aviation Gin account. It appeared to be a reply to a colleague at Aviation named Bruce who originally asked how the marketing shoot for the new tagline went. In Reynold’s reply to the email, he states: “Oh. My. God. The tagline shoot = disaster. What in the fresh hell is going on with our marketing department? Let’s cancel my afternoon fish pedi because I’ve gotta solve this myself. What else is new? LOL.”
In the email, we see how they talk about erasing the footage so it doesn’t get out. As you know, the footage ‘got out’, seeing as a link to the shoot was provided to all recipients of Aviation Gin emails. In the failed shoot, we see the various attempts by Reynolds to get best from truly awful slogans.
The slogan ranged from being strange, silly to hilariously profane. Some of the slogans include “an illusory and fleeting sense of well-being”, “it’s just vodka after its wish was granted”, “tastes like God cried in your mouth”, “it’ll get you f#*ked”, “if you’re drinking anything else, you’re drinking bullshit”.
The video eventually ends with the simple Aviation American Gin logo, no slogan needed.
