Pineapple TV, a kids and family-focused channel recently launched in Nigeria. Pineapple TV channel is Africa’s first-ever dedicated children and family TV Channel that will deliver safe, fun, and quality programming. The new channel will only be available on StarTimes Channel. It is unknown if the kids and the family-focused channel will be available on other cable TV networks like DSTV. But for now, it will only be available on StarTimes.

According to the kids and family-focused TV channel, their target audience is children. Their programming is created to appeal to children between the ages of four and sixteen of age. The programming will also appeal to parents, making the channel a very wholesome experience for the family. The kids and family-focused channel aims to inform, educate and entertain viewers in Nigeria, Africa and in the diaspora, using stories and characters. They promise entertaining, educating and engaging programming for both kids and parents.
Pineapple TV Speaks on Its Launch in Nigeria
Carl Raccah the managing director of the kids and family-focused channel spoke on its launch in Nigeria. He stated that Pineapple Productions and Media Limited is a special purpose vehicle founded by highly experienced business, media management, and production and marketing experts. He talked about how they will see the rise of carefully created African TV channel that will entertain children on the African continent and in the diaspora.
Yetunde Falade the marketing director of the kids and family-focused channel also spoke about its launch. She stated that Pineapple Productions and Media Ltd is launched out of Nigeria from an administration and content creation standpoint. This is to ensure the company fulfils another of its mandates which is generating opportunities for professionals within this sector of the Nigeria creative industry. Professionals like scriptwriters, animators, actors and directors. By doing this, they are contributing positively to the Nigerian economy through job creations and involvement of locally selected talents and content production.
