They decided to use this deep love people feel for the game as a way to get people pumped and many agree it’s a great way to jump-start the season.
NFL Gets Pumped for its 100th Season in New Ad
In the ‘We ready’ ad, we see the NFL use both stars and unsung youth players to get people pumped for the 100th season. These unsung youth players include an all-female football team. The campaign tries to capture the fan and player passion that lives everywhere from locker rooms and fields in face paint, tattoos, dances and chants. In the ad, we see NFL players training hard for the 100th season. As they train, the hum the familiar Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye song comes in. This song has become a staple at sports stadiums.
In the campaign we also see a marching band playing and chanting the tune. We then see fans getting hyped for the season, along with footage of the Los Angeles Bobcats all-female football team. The ad also stars Rob Mendez, the inspirational football coach with no arms or legs. He is also the winner of the 2019 ESPY Jimmy V Award for Perseverance. In the ad, we see him also preparing for the 100th season.
As the song and action build to a frenzy, the screen fades to black. Then comes an overlay of ‘Kickoff 9/5’ and the NFL 100 logo.
