Google recently announced a new voice for its Google Assistant. Google will have actress, writer and producer Issa Rae making a cameo on Google Assistant. She follows singer John Legend who also lent his voice the voice assistant in April.
Issa Rae is the Next Voice of Google Assistant.
According to the tech giants, Issa Rae will be lending her voice to the voice assistant. The feature will be available for a limited time in the U.S. starting today. Users will be able to ask for certain information from Issa Rae. They can ask questions about the weather, news, jokes, motivational messages and answers to questions like, “When’s the first day of winter?”. Users can ask Issa Rae questions like:
- “ … do I need an umbrella today?”
- “ … tell me a secret.”
- “ … what do you think of me?”
- “ … give me a quote from Issa Rae.”
- “ … sing a song.”
- “ … do you have any dating advice?”
- Or “How do I look?” for “a confidence-boosting affirmation.”
All other responses except for the Easter eggs below will remain in one of the original Assistant voices.

According to the tech giants, they will be pushing the new feature on Instagram. They will be sharing exclusive sneak peeks into Issa’s life on set.
