Ecobank Nigeria has been hosting a sustainability week, the whole week is dedicated to promoting and encouraging activities that will help to sustain the environment. With the sustainability week, Ecobank Nigeria is trying to raise awareness of the importance of taking care of the environment. They also want to sensitize the Nigerian public about the activities that will help to sustain the environment. Sustainability is a universal call, that a lot of brands both local and international have started to answer and Ecobank is the newest brand to head to the call. As part of their sustainability week, the Bank is encouraging Nigerians to bring in plastic bottles in exchange for money.

About Ecobank Nigeria Plastic Bottle Exchange Initiative

Ecobank Nigeria recently announced that as part of their sustainability week, they are encouraging residents in Lagos to bring in used plastic materials especially sods and water plastic bottles. They want the Lagos resident to bring in the plastic materials into their head office in Victoria Island. The Lagos residents will get cash in exchange for the plastic materials. This initiative is part of the brand’s activities to remove non-biodegradable materials from the environment. According to the brand’s media message, Ecobank Nigeria is hoping to remove at least four million used plastic bottles from the streets and drains of Lagos.

About Ecobank Nigeria’s Sustainability Week

Apart from the plastic material exchanger initiative, the bank also has other activities lined up for the week. One of such activities includes hosting a symposium for secondary school students in Lagos, Abuja and Port- Harcourt. At the symposium, the secondary school students will be thought about the lifestyles that exemplify and encourages sustainability.

According to the brand’s media message, they are very committed to sustaining the environment for all. They stated that their sustainability activities are part of the universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
