Droga5 recently announced its first business account win since it was acquired by Accenture Interactive. They announced that they have been appointed the global creative agency of record for OnePlus. Droga5 was appointed the global creative agency of record for OnePlus after a very competitive pitch. This is the agency’s first win since Accenture Interactive announced it would be acquiring the agency earlier this month. News broke earlier this month that Accenture Interactive has bought 49 per cent stake in Droga5. The 49 per cent stake was previously owned by the media holding company Endeavour.
Droga5 became a part of the Accenture’s Interactive division as a result of the purchase of the 49 per cent stake. The acquisition was a big shakeup in the industry, it resulted in Droga5’s employees becoming a major part of Accenture’s marketing and customer experience division. Droga5 OnePlus’s Global Creative Agency of Record
The agency was awarded the OnePlus account after a very competitive pitch, they pitched for the account in January. There was no incumbent agency of record. As the brand’s global creative agency of record, their first task is to develop and launch an integrated campaign. The campaign will span film, digital, experiential and print and would be launched in 2019. The campaign will help promote the brand’s latest device as they bring it to North America.
Droga5 and OnePlus Speaks on the Appointment
The co-founder of OnePlus Carl Pei spoke on the appointment. He stated that their company mandate is that if they are going to take on a project, it must be done well. This was why the agency was an obvious choice. He stated that the decision made a lot of sense to them, seeing as they make the best phones and such they selected the best partner to work with them on creative solutions.
The managing director of the agency Dan Gonda also spoke about the appointment. He sang the brand’s praises, stating that the brand is already a major player in global markets. He stated that his agency is excited by the opportunity to help the brand continue its global growth by disrupting the category in North America.
