They all try to deliver the gifts secretly. The ad features people who are easy to relate to like a little girl delivering a bar of chocolate to her teacher or a women sneaking a box of Cadbury to her co-worker. Each time a gift is given, we are treated to the joyful faces of their loved ones. The ad displays a wide range of Cadbury products. The Ad then prompts everyone to join the biggest Secret Santa ever.
What Inspired Cadbury’s Secret Santa Campaign?
In a statement Benazir Barlet-Batada, brand equity lead for Cadbury stated that Christmas is usually a magical time and it fosters every individual’s generous instinct. He said that Cadbury chocolates have always been known to be a thoughtful gift. He explained that Cadbury decided to pair the generous spirit behind Christmas and Cadbury ( a thoughtful gift) to create this ad. Cadbury hopes that the ad can foster the generous instinct in everyone and prompt them to become a Secret Santa this Christmas.
In a statement by Darren Bailes, executive creative director at VCCP, he takes us back to the great nostalgic feeling of being a Secret Santa at work. He then says that the Cadbury Secret Santa ad wants to replicate this great feeling on a large scale across the country. With this ad they want everyone to ignite their generous instinct by bringing a smile to their loved one’s faces with a gift.
The Cadbury Secret Santa ad is part of Cadbury’s new repositioning plan. The plan seeks to focus on Kindness and generosity, the founding principles of the brand.
