Airtel Nigeria recently announced that they will be partnering with Views Channel. Views Channel is a subsidiary of Maxima Media Group. They will be partnering with Airtel Nigeria to produce premium content. The content will be targeted at Millennials and Generation Z.
About Airtel Nigeria and Views Channel’s Partnership
As many know Airtel Nigeria has been at the forefront of creative output in Nigeria. Compared to other telecoms in Nigeria, the telecom giants have produced a lot more creative-driven content. Their ads usually aim to be memorable and story-driven. So their partnership with View Channel is not a surprise and seems to match the brand’s image.
Their partnership with Views Channel will see content from the channel being sponsored by Airtel. For now, the following content will be sponsored by Airtel Nigeria: The Condo, Allisson’s Stand, Down on Twitter and Lyrical Play. The selected shows are suited to the channel’s goals which are to be an innovative platform that speaks the language of the Millennial and Generation z, no matter their tribe or tongue. Seeing as Airtel wishes to reach out to Millennials and Generation z, the partnership will be beneficial to the two brands.
Airtel Speaks on the Partnership
Ibiyinka Dada, Digital Media Manager, Airtel Nigeria spoke about the partnership. He stated that they decided to partner with Views Channel because they have innovative and groundbreaking content which runs in line with the goals of Airtel Nigeria. He also talked about how they have decided to take the leap with the channel to reach out to Millennials and Generation z. They have decided to do this through pop culture valid content and series.
Maxima Media Group Speaks on the Partnership
Oluwafemi Ogundoro, the Managing Director of Maxima Media Group also spoke about the partnership. He stated that the channel is very excited about the partnership. He stated that they are happy to have one of the most innovative companies in Africa behind them. Ogundoro spoke about how it says a lot about what their brand stands for and means.
He talked about how they are aware of as a society of the needs for Millennials and Generation z. According to Ogundoro, Millennials and Generation z want content that’s curated directly for their needs. He also talked about how Airtel coming onboard provides a strong base of support for their goals. He also commended their other supporters and sponsors.
